The UNHCR + Dino Caruso Galvagno

The UNHCR + Dino Caruso Galvagno

We were approached by the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to create an animation that would enable them to highlight the current blind spot in national survey data and the impact it has on refugees and IDPs (Internally Displaced People).

National survey data plays a crucial role in determining who needs what from healthcare to education services. These surveys represent almost everyone who lives in the country but this data often excludes refugees and IDPs meaning their needs aren't properly met.

The team at the UN originally wanted a traditional explainer but we decided to push the boundaries of what they thought was possible. We worked with them to create an organic and human centric approach. Our brilliant artist Dino Caruso Galvagno developed a light, provocative style and brought it to life using frame by frame animation.

The piece was launched at the UN General Assembly in Geneva last month. We're stoked to have been part of this project and we're looking forward to many more.
